Job summary

USIC Locating Services, LLC is seeking a Drop Bury Technician to perform accurate underground utility locates and subsequent drop burial work at residential and commercial sites. You will rely on maps and records, operate locating and digging equipment, and document every locate with photos for compliance.

The role emphasizes safety, customer interaction, and efficient field execution, with opportunities for training, company-provided vehicle, and progression within the CPP.

Qualifications

• Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to use locating equipment and interpret records/maps.
• Pass a drug screen; valid driver's license required.
• Willingness to work overtime including weekends.
• Ability to read locate tickets and coordinates.
• Strong communication and safety focus.
• Capable of independent work with minimal supervision.
• Prior utility locating or outdoor work is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive to job sites and perform locates and drop bury tickets.
• Reference records, maps and prints to locate and mark utilities.
• Utilize locating equipment and follow procedures for accuracy.
• Operate digging equipment or hand tools to trench/bore 6–8 inches.
• Use phone/software to log time and locate data for billing.
• Follow OSHA and company safety guidelines.
• Take photos and complete required documentation.
• Check equipment and supplies daily for readiness.
• Interact with utility reps, contractors and property owners.
• Maintain professional conduct at all times.
