Job summary

USIC is seeking a Drop Bury Technician to locate underground utilities and perform trenching/bore work at residential and commercial sites. You will use locating equipment, reference maps, and photos to ensure accurate marks and compliant tickets.

The role requires outdoor endurance, safety awareness, and the ability to operate hand tools and digging equipment as needed. This position offers comprehensive benefits, a company vehicle, paid training, and opportunities for growth through our CPP

Qualifications

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Experience reading locate tickets/maps/prints is helpful but not required.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs and use hand tools for trenching/bore tasks.

Responsibilities

• Drive company vehicle to outdoor job sites and perform locates and drop bury tickets.
• Reference records, maps, and prints to accurately locate and mark underground facilities.
• Utilize locating equipment and methods to ensure accurate, quality locates.
• Operate digging equipment or hand tools to trench or bore cable lines (typically 6-8 inches).
• Document time, locations, and tickets using company software and photos.
• Follow safety procedures and OSHA guidelines; maintain equipment and materials.
