Job summary

Southwood Building Systems, Inc. is seeking a Site Utility Foreman to oversee ground-up commercial site development, focusing on underground infrastructure and wet utilities in accordance with municipal specifications.

The role requires OSHA Competent Person certification, strong coordination with management, and hands-on leadership to ensure safety, schedule adherence and quality workmanship on site.

Qualifications

• Extensive trenching experience with water mains, sanitary sewers and storm drainage.
• Familiarity with VDOT/local municipal specifications.
• Ability to solve complex technical and logistical issues.
• Strong safety compliance mindset and regulatory adherence.

Responsibilities

• Manage trench safety (OSHA Competent Person).
• Coordinate with management for labor and material accuracy.
• Schedule with on-site management.
• Manage the use and maintenance of equipment and tools.
• Train crew on safety procedures and technical skills for underground work.
• Monitor work quality to meet industry standards and project specs.
• Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used and project progress.
• Act as liaison between field crews and management to ensure clear communication.
