Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking an experienced Project Engineer I - Underground Utilities to coordinate field work, review plans, and support project teams with professionalism and confidentiality in a dynamic environment.

The role emphasizes coordinating with the Project Manager and Superintendent, managing submittals, RFIs, and change orders, and mentoring field engineers while ensuring safety, schedule, and quality across sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management.
• Minimum of two years related construction experience.
• Detail oriented with ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of construction law and business practices is preferred.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Current driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Interpret project plans, specs, and details for subs and self-perform teams.
• Oversee quality control and assurance plans.
• Obtain and manage construction permits and related expenses.
• Support PM and Superintendent with schedules and phase plans.
• Coordinate with engineers, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
