Job summary

Murray Company is seeking a Project Engineer to support our Underground / Civil division in Cypress, CA, with anticipated travel in the greater Southern California area. You will assist in planning, scheduling, and coordinating project activities to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in construction management or mechanical engineering and have 2+ years of progressive project engineering experience in a mechanical contracting environment, including

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, mechanical engineering or similar area of study; and/or previous direct field and craft experience.
• 2+ years of progressive project engineering experience at a mechanical contractor with emphasis in underground piping scopes; wet utilities, trenching, shoring, sewer, stormwater a plus.
• Proficiency in construction software and enterprise tools (Excel, MS Project, Procore).

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager in planning work schedule, manpower levels and assignment of project personnel.
• Assist in coordination of project personnel to keep progress on schedule and within budget.
• Advise Project Manager of potential problems and assist in resolving schedule difficulties.
• Prepare letters, memos, reports and procedures as required.
• Oversee day-to-day administrative items including RFIs, submittals and material requests.
• Prepare reports and analyses as requested, with minimal supervision.
