Job summary

MasTec Utility Services in Dunn, NC is seeking an Underground Streetlight Foreman to lead a crew in the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground streetlighting systems within an electric utility service area. The role requires deep knowledge of underground electrical infrastructure, safety regulations, and strong leadership to ensure high-quality, timely project execution.

Minimum experience includes 3 years operating heavy equipment, 2 years supervisory, and a valid CDL Class A

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment and general construction.
• 2 years of supervisory experience.
• CDL Class A license required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct a crew in underground streetlighting installation, maintenance, and repair.
• Ensure materials, permits, and licenses are in place for each project.
• Enforce MasTec safety standards and customer safety requirements.
• Lead toolbox talks and safety inspections weekly.
• Coordinate daily tasks for digging and placing products.
• Perform switching to isolate and insulate underground power lines safely.
• Connect, disconnect, install, move, and transfer electrical devices on customer facilities.
• Phase and tag underground equipment.
• Operate and transport equipment to job sites to assist crews.
• Train new hires and trainees in the trade.
• Communicate with utilities about location services at project sites.
