HECLA MINING CO. in Juneau, AK invites applications for the UG Mobile Maintenance Mechanic (Tech III - V). This role ensures continuous operation of underground mobile equipment, performing advanced diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.

You will work with maintenance teams, prioritize repairs with supervision, and maintain accurate records while strictly following safety regulations underground.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mobile equipment maintenance, preferably in underground mining or heavy industrial settings.
• Proven ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical systems on mobile equipment.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate mobile equipment safely.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices related to underground maintenance work.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on underground mobile equipment including loaders, trucks, and drills.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to identify potential mechanical issues before they lead to equipment failure.
• Collaborate with maintenance supervisors and operators to prioritize repair work and ensure timely resolution of equipment problems.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage in compliance with company policies.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe working environment underground.
