The successful candidate will have a mining degree, 5+ years of underground experience, and a valid Alabama Mine Foreman Certificate, with strong analytical and supervisory skills to improve production and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mining or related field.
• At least 5 years of underground coal mining experience.
• Valid Alabama Mine Foreman Certificate.
• Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
• High safety standards and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily activities of the continuous mining section, including equipment, personnel, and materials.
• Monitor and control coal production quality, quantity, and costs.
• Ensure teammate and equipment safety; implement preventive and corrective actions.
• Conduct regular inspections, audits, and report issues or incidents.
• Provide training, coaching, and feedback; evaluate performance and development.
• Enforce safety, health, and environmental policies for all teammates and contractors.
• Communicate with managers and provide timely reports and data.
• Stay updated on mining trends and propose improvements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
