Job summary

Sandvik Mining is seeking a Field Service Technician in Billings, MT, with a strong mechanical or electrical background to troubleshoot, repair and maintain underground mining equipment at customer sites.

The role covers the Billings area (with occasional Idaho assignments), requires about 50% travel, and includes a company vehicle. Candidates should have at least 7 years of related experience, underground exposure, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics.

Qualifications

• Technical certification or diploma in mechanical or electrical fields with a minimum of 7 years of field/technical experience.
• Underground mining experience plus heavy-duty diesel and high-voltage electrical exposure.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret equipment schematics; strong troubleshooting and customer-facing communication.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical and electrical components of underground mining equipment.
• Perform new equipment commissioning and on-site training with minimal supervision.
• Travel approximately 50% to customer sites; operate both underground and surface work sites.
