Job summary

Sandvik Mining in Juneau, AK, is seeking a Field Service Technician with a strong mechanical or electrical background to troubleshoot and repair underground drilling and mining equipment. The role involves commissioning, training at customer sites, and extensive field work with about 50% travel.

A company vehicle is provided for travel. Minimum 5 years of related experience, a technical certification or diploma in mechanical or electrical fields, and the ability to read schematics are required.

Qualifications

• Technical certification or diploma in mechanical or electrical fields, with 5+ years in field.
• Mining equipment experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret schematics.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical and/or electrical aspects of underground drilling, load & haul trucks, mining equipment and components at sites.
• Perform new equipment commissioning and training at customer sites with minimal supervision.
• Conduct standard maintenance, faultfinding, inspections, and commissioning of service projects per Sandvik guidelines.
• Complete maintenance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Occasionally collect technical feedback in Sales Area and input into the database.
• Coach customer technicians on basic servicing and maintenance principles.
