Job summary

Peabody Energy, Inc. is seeking an Operator - Underground for our Francisco, IN operation within the Operations department. The role focuses on operating underground mining equipment and supporting logistics to keep production moving safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities include installing and maintaining conveyors and power distribution, ventilation, pumping systems, and handling supplies. Candidates must meet licensing requirements, have 12 months underground experience, and be able to work

Qualifications

Twelve months of underground coal mining experience required.
Experience operating at least two pieces of section equipment (continuous miner or roof bolter mandatory).
Knowledge of state and federal underground mining regulations.
Certification of Competency (Face Papers) or Miners License required.
High school diploma or GED required.
Self-motivated with ability to work with minimal supervision.
Good communication with coworkers and supervisors.
Willing to work any shift, overtime, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

Operate underground mining equipment in production and support activities.
Install, move, clean, operate and maintain conveyor belts and associated equipment.
Install and move power distribution equipment.
Install and maintain ventilation devices.
Install and maintain pumping equipment.
Load, deliver, unload and distribute supplies and parts.
Assist coworkers in any or all of the above.
