Job summary

Pike Corporation seeks a Class C Lineman Underground—safety focused professional who constructs and repairs underground distribution systems. You will work on energized and de-energized powerlines and may travel to out-of-state sites as needed. Reports to the Foreman.

Essential duties include installing and repairing underground facilities, fault locating, learning switching and tagging, and working in confined spaces with PPE. Outages and on-call rotations are part of the job.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of underground line experience.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Work for extended periods at job locations, including out-of-state assignments.
• Willing to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, holidays, emergency callouts, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintain and repair energized and de-energized underground distribution systems with safety first.
• Help install and repair underground facilities and conductors, including fault locating on primary and secondary systems.
• Learn switching and tagging procedures, grounding and induced voltage on energized and de-energized lines.
• Work in confined spaces near energized equipment under direct supervision.
• Operate and maintain excavation equipment (backhoes, trenchers, excavators, pulling equipment).
• Work outdoors in extreme conditions and be available for outages, storms, emergencies including on-call rotation.
