Job summary

Chain Electric Company seeks an Underground Foreman to lead a crew in the construction, maintenance, and operation of electrical systems, ensuring projects meet design, budget, schedule, and safety standards.

The role requires 5+ years in URD utility construction, a valid CDL-B, and the ability to travel 100% with proximity to Baton Rouge, LA. You will train workers, enforce safety, and coordinate look-ahead scheduling with the General Foreman/PMs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' URD utility construction experience
• Ability to travel 100% of the time
• Must reside within one-hour drive of Baton Rouge, LA
• Strong planning and delegation skills to schedule crews
• Ability to read and interpret technical information, manuals, policies, procedures, work orders, blueprints
• Leadership ability to train and guide workers safely and effectively
• Proficient in English (oral and written)
• Reliable and trustworthy

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to crews to ensure safe, efficient, and quality operations
• Develop look-ahead schedules with estimations of worker requirements, equipment, and materials
• Ensure crews follow the schedule for construction and maintenance of projects
• Maintain safety, equipment, and site compliance with specifications
• Safeguard company and customer assets and secure tools daily
• Promote adherence to safety policies and guidelines
• Assist in problem solving to optimize technology, methods, and equipment
• Mentor workers in construction methods, equipment operation, safety practices and company policies
• Support project managers to meet company goals
• Assist in recruiting and assigning classifications based on skills
