Job summary

Peabody is seeking a Construction Foreman for the Shoal Creek Mine in Oakman, Alabama. The role oversees underground construction projects, ensures safety and regulatory compliance, and manages crew activities and budgets in a safety-first environment.

The candidate should have 5+ years of underground mining and construction experience, strong reading of blueprints, and knowledge of MSHA regulations. Alabama mine operations offer stability and a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of underground coal mining experience.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in underground construction (preferred).
• Solid comprehension of cost estimating, project cost control and schedule management.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to read construction drawings and blueprints.
• Thorough knowledge of state and federal mining regulations.
• Alabama Mine Foreman Certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Organize, oversee, and ensure completion of all underground construction projects.
• Supervise crew to meet safety and compliance goals.
• Coordinate daily tasks for crews.
• Communicate progress and issues to General Mine Coordinator.
• Conduct crew safety and informational meetings.
• Ensure quality of construction projects and manage budgets.
• Promote and comply with safety directives at the site.
