Job summary

Peabody Energy is seeking a Belt Supervisor to lead a crew at the Shoal Creek Mine in Oakman, AL. The role focuses on safe belt operation, splicing, maintenance, and regulatory compliance with MSHA standards.

The position demands 3–5 years of underground mining and conveyor experience, strong leadership, and willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays. The team benefits from 401K, health coverages, and a safety-first culture.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in underground mining operations with conveyor system experience.
• Alabama Mine Foreman Certification preferred.
• Experience with belt installation and maintenance.
• MSHA regulation knowledge and compliance required.
• Willingness to work any shift, including holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Change rollers, belt splices, and clean belts.
• Supervise crew to meet production goals, setup, safe work practices, and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee belt splices, conveyor framing and roller changes, and cleanup activities.
• Conduct crew safety and informational meetings to promote safe practices.
• Communicate progress with Belt Foreman regarding personnel or equipment issues.
• Teach new employees belt operation processes and safety procedures.
• Maintain respectful relationships across all levels and support safety directives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
