Job summary

Peabody Energy is seeking a Senior Manager Longwall Production at Shoal Creek Mine in Oakman, AL. You will oversee the longwall department, lead safety‑first operations, and drive production targets in a deep underground coal mining environment.

This role requires extensive underground longwall experience, strong leadership, budgeting, and regulatory knowledge. You will coordinate with maintenance and safety teams to optimize performance and ensure MSHA compliance while guiding a team of

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 10-12 years of Underground Longwall Mining experience.
• Mine Foreman Certification or ability to obtain.
• Strong knowledge of MSHA Acts & Regulations.
• Excellent interpersonal & leadership skills.
• Willing to work any shift and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the longwall department and meet targets.
• Lead with safety and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Develop operational plans for direct reports.
• Coordinate with Safety and Maintenance to optimize production.
• Manage department budget, costs, and scheduling.
• Collaborate with other departments to align with mine plan.
• Monitor equipment performance and productivity trends.
• Train and guide coordinators and supervisors in leadership.
