Job summary

The Ohio State University in Columbus seeks an Undergraduate Engagement Librarian to lead development, delivery, and assessment of student-focused learning experiences for first- and second-year undergraduates within the Teaching & Learning Department.

Collaborate across campus, teach courses, support information literacy across general education, and supervise up to three staff. The role advances undergraduate success and lifelong learning at Ohio State.

Qualifications

• ALA-accredited master’s degree or comparable graduate degree
• Familiarity with information literacy framework and related documents
• Evidence of effective outreach, programming delivery, and assessment with key stakeholders
• At least four years’ experience providing instruction, mentoring, and/or programming for early career undergraduates
• Understanding of undergrad student needs and engagement with diverse populations

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead liaison to campus units (Office of Student Life, FIRST Year Experience, STEP, etc.)
• Maintain and enhance programs/resources for first- and second-year students
• Teach credit courses and co-curricular sessions by the Teaching & Learning Department
• Develop and implement information literacy within the university general education program
• Provide expertise on student learning and success to faculty and staff
• Oversee orientation and library orientation experiences
• Engage in professional development and scholarly activities
• Supervise up to 3 staff within the department
• Participate in committees and university-wide teams
