Job summary

The Ohio State University Libraries seeks an Undergraduate Engagement Librarian to lead student-focused learning experiences for first- and second-year undergraduates within the Teaching & Learning Department.

You will supervise 1–3 staff, collaborate with campus programs, and develop innovative information literacy initiatives to support student success and research skills. The role is tenure-track and full-time.

Qualifications

• ALA-accredited master's or equivalent, with focus on undergrad development.
• Familiarity with the Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education and other relevant documents.
• Evidence of effective outreach and programming collaboration with stakeholders.
• At least four years' experience instructing/mentoring early career undergraduate students.
• Understanding of undergraduate students' educational habits and needs.
• Ability to work with a diverse population and multiple stakeholders.
• Commitment to librarianship, scholarship, and service in line with promotion/tenure requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead liaison to campus offices and programs relevant to undergraduate students.
• Maintain and improve programs/resources for first- and second-year students and other undergrads new to campus.
• Teach credit courses and co-curricular sessions offered by the Teaching & Learning Department.
• Collaborate to integrate information literacy into the university's general education program.
• Provide expertise to faculty and staff on student learning and success in higher education.
• Oversee department involvement in orientation events and library orientations.
• Stay current on information literacy, undergraduate education, student learning, and related topics.
• Participate in Teaching & Learning projects and departmental reporting.
• Serve on library-wide/university committees as an engaged faculty member.
• Maintain professional development through associations and activities externally.
