Job summary

AdventHealth Minneola is seeking an Endoscopy Support role to monitor endoscopy instruments, assist procedures, and ensure the suite is prepared for each case. You will work under the supervision of a registered nurse and physician.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, CPR/BLS certification, and the ability to work a flexible schedule, including call hours, in a team environment. This is a day-shift, 40-hour weekly position with four 10-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Technical/vocational training is preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor endoscopy instruments and supplies.
• Follow disinfection procedures and monitor chemicals/biologicals.
• Assist in endoscopy procedures under RN/physician supervision.
• Prepare the endoscopy suite and ensure supplies are ready.
• Assist in patient positioning, prep, and draping.
• Maintain organized environment and support the physician during procedures.

Job Description:

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Monitors levels of all endoscopy instruments and supplies.
• Follows written procedures for high-level disinfection and chemical and biological monitoring.
• Performs treatments and procedures within the defined scope of practice.
• Provides supportive care to patients under the direct supervision of a registered nurse and physician.
• Ensures the endoscopy suite is adequately prepared for procedures. Prepares the room in a timely manner with all anticipated supplies and equipment for each endoscopy procedure.
• Demonstrates competence in the care and accurate handling of specimens.
• Checks all equipment and instruments needed prior to each procedure to ensure proper functioning.
• Assists in positioning, prepping, and draping patients for endoscopy procedures.
• Maintains an orderly environment and anticipates the needs of the physician during procedures.
• Demonstrates proficiency in the setup of multi-specialty endoscopy procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Licenses and Certifications:

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) [Preferred]
