Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Intensive Care unit in Ocala, FL. The role involves leading patient care, coordinating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams, and delivering high-quality, evidence-based nursing to critically ill patients.

Eligible clinicians can grow through the Clinical Ladder, with salary increases based on advancement and achievement. Four days per week, day shift, with rotating call requirements.

Qualifications

  • Must have 1+ years of critical care nursing experience.
  • Current RN license in Florida.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments per orders.
  • Monitor patient responses and adjust plans for optimal outcomes.
  • Educate patients and families about conditions and treatments.
  • Document care activities in EMR accurately and timely.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and quality standards.
  • Mentor and supervise nursing staff as needed.
  • Maintain infection control and safety protocols.

Job Description:

Grow with us. Eligible clinicians have the opportunity to earn salary increases of up to 20%* through our Clinical Ladder Program based on experience, professional development, and achievement of advancement criteria.

Clinical Ladder participation is voluntary. Salary adjustments are determined by program eligibility, advancement level, and organizational guidelines.

Schedule:

Four days per week, 10 hours per day. Rotating call requirements

Shift:

Days

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to gather data on health status and needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessment findings and medical diagnoses.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient responses to interventions, adjusting care plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, medications, and self-care strategies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
  • Document patient care activities, including assessments, care plans, interventions, and outcomes, accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Supervise and mentor nursing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality care.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to infection control policies and safety protocols.
  • Respond promptly to life-threatening situations using established protocols and critical care skills.

  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency in clinical skills, multi-tasking, and a professional bedside manner [Required]
  • Knowledgeable in assigned areas of patient care including health promotion and maintenance [Required]
  • EKG knowledge (based on patient population; see document EKG and Advanced Life Support Requirements) [Required]
  • Previous experience with Cerner Electronic Medical Record [Preferred]
  • Previous EKG Interpretation Class [Preferred]
  • EPIC [Preferred]
Education:
  • Associate's of Nursing [Required]
  • Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]
Work Experience:
  • Must have 1+ years critical care nursing experience
  • Endoscopy experience strongly preferred
