Job summary

Allied Universal in Knoxville, TN is seeking a Security Officer Unarmed Roving Patrol to monitor facilities, deter security incidents, and support access control at a telecommunications site. You will provide excellent customer service, conduct patrols, verify credentials, and respond to incidents as needed.

The role is full-time with daytime/evening shifts; pay rate is $17.00 per hour and benefits include health and retirement options.

Qualifications

• Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
• CPR Certification is preferred.
• Alarm Panel Experience is preferred.
• CPR/First Aid is preferred.
• Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a telecommunications location by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, parking areas, entry points, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, unauthorized access, and potential security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, verify credentials when required, and report access‑control issues to the appropriate contacts.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and notify site management and/or emergency responders as directed.
• Maintain accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift communications while presenting a professional, customer-focused presence in a technology and telecommunications environment.
