Job summary

Allied Universal, Reston, VA, is seeking a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Risk Recognition to safeguard clients in tech/media locations. You will monitor assigned areas, deter incidents, and respond to security concerns while delivering excellent customer service.

This full-time role pays $21.00 per hour and features evening shifts Monday through Friday. You will complete detailed reports, coordinate with site leadership, and support a welcoming, secure environment.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel and visitors while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including the business perimeter, to help identify and report unusual conditions or potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures; verify credentials and direct guests as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting actions taken.
• Complete detailed activity reports, incident reports, and shift logs while communicating relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
