Job summary

Allied Universal in Sterling, VA seeks a Security Officer (Part Time, Unarmed Patrol) to provide reliable security services at a designated site. The role includes fixed shifts with optional extra shifts through the scheduling platform to increase earnings.

Pay rate is $23.18 per hour with a Thursday 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM schedule. Candidates must meet minimum requirements and pass background checks, with opportunities for training and career growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of security-related experience.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by following security procedures and site policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of data center areas, offices, exterior grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter locations.
• Monitor access control points, verify visitor/contractor authorization, and maintain logs and records.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and communicate with site contacts and responders.
• Document observations and patrol activities in written reports and share relevant info with Allied Universal leadership.
