Job summary

Allied Universal in Ashburn, VA is seeking a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Incident Awareness to safeguard clients across government education locations, performing routine patrols and maintaining a visible presence to deter incidents while delivering excellent service.

You will document activities using tablet tools, respond calmly to emergencies, greet visitors, monitor access, and coordinate with school staff and leadership.

Qualifications

• CPR certification is preferred.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or community members by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at educational facilities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and notification protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of school buildings, grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access to assigned locations, greet and direct visitors, and assist with maintaining orderly entry procedures in accordance with site requirements.
• Document observations, incidents, and patrol activity accurately and communicate relevant information to school personnel and Allied Universal leadership.
