Job summary

Endeavor Health is hiring a security officer to support patient and staff safety across multiple hospital locations in the Naperville area. Under supervision, you will perform unarmed uniformed security duties, patrol facilities, and respond to incidents while ensuring safe, courteous service to patients and visitors.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of one year of customer-focused service experience; CPR and CPI certifications are required within set timelines,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year experience in a customer-focused service-based organization preferred.
• Knowledge base from two years of experience in law enforcement, military or private security preferred.
• Healthcare environment experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of computers, loss prevention and fire/security technology.

Responsibilities

• Patrols assigned areas of facilities and grounds on foot or in motorized vehicle according to established schedule and investigates unusual occurrences.
• Reports incidents or potential loss of hospital, employee, patient or visitor property; involves police if necessary and assists during investigations.
• Responds to all service calls promptly, safely, professionally and courteously.
• Welcomes visitors and directs them to locations on hospital grounds; assists with escort when needed.
• Directs vehicle traffic around hospital facilities to prevent congestion and maintains parking enforcement as required.
• Restrain unruly individuals in accordance with procedures and involve police when necessary; helps in removing visitors.
• Protects patient and employee valuables and hospital equipment; monitors lost and found items.
• Checks doors, windows, alarms, and extinguishers; reports problems to relevant personnel.
• Investigates thefts, accidents and incidents to collect evidence and prepare accurate reports.
