Endeavor Health is hiring an unarmed security officer to provide safety services across hospital locations in Illinois. The role involves patrols, incident reporting, directing traffic, escorting patients and visitors, and coordinating with police as needed.

Required CPR and CPI certifications within set timeframes, along with an Illinois FOID card; preferred candidate has background in law enforcement or private security and healthcare experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year of customer-focused service experience.
• Two years in law enforcement, military or private security preferred.
• CPR certification within 90 days of start date.
• Illinois Firearm Owner's Identification Card within 90 days of start date.
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification within six months of hire.

Responsabilités

• Patrols assigned areas of facilities and grounds on foot or in motorized vehicle according to schedule and investigates unusual occurrences.
• Reports incidents or loss and, if necessary, involve police and assist in investigations.
• Responds to all service calls in a timely, safe, professional manner.
• Welcomes customers and provides directions to patients/visitors; offers escort when possible.
• Directs vehicle traffic to prevent congestion and enforces parking rules; issues citations.
• Restraints unruly individuals and coordinates with police when needed.
• Protects valuables and monitors lost-and-found handling.
• Checks doors/windows and inspects alarms and equipment; notifies issues.
• Investigates thefts/accidents and documents to gather evidence.
