Qualifications

• US citizenship is required.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• A minimum of 1 year of security, law enforcement or military experience preferred.
• Pass a criminal background and consumer credit check (no criminal record).
• Obtain and maintain a DHS/ICE government clearance.
• Pass all pre-employment and random drug tests.
• Pass a medical examination and meet health requirements.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Possess a valid state driver's license.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a state security guard license.
• Ability to walk through all areas of the facility for tours and compliance inspections in varied weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Conducts security and sanitation checks prior to shift change.
• Inventory all equipment and log results.
• Receive and verify equipment, ensure proper working condition.
• Maintain radio in good working order with a charged battery.
• Detention, processing, safeguarding, security, and escort duties as required.
• Exercise surveillance and control over detainees, maintain order and discipline.
• Attend to housing, feeding, and detainee well‑being 24/7.
• Make official logbook entries that are legible and complete.
• Enforce facility rules and regulations.
• Provide care, custody and control of detainees.
