Job summary

Akima Infrastructure Protection (AIP) is seeking an Armed Detention Officer to safeguard detainees and the public in government facilities. The role requires a state-licensed security guard credential and the ability to perform under demanding conditions with integrity.

You will conduct detainee processing, patrol areas, and document incidents while maintaining safety and adherence to Use of Force policies. The position emphasizes fitness, training, and professional conduct across shifts.

Qualifications

• Speak, read, write English fluently and understand written orders and policies.
• Ability to write clear incident reports and narratives.
• Proven ability to stay calm under stress and handle emergencies tactfully.
• Experience interacting with the public in a security context preferred.

Responsibilities

• Guard detainees and safeguard public in government settings.
• Qualify on fire course twice yearly; maintain fitness.
• Complete training and refresher courses and meet all job requirements.
• Escort detainees and maintain order and discipline.
• Conduct area safety, sanitation checks and equipment inventories.
• Ensure communications gear and weapons are ready and properly issued.
