Job summary

AGS, an Akima company, seeks an Armed Detention Officer for our Guaynabo detention facility in Puerto Rico. You will perform duties related to detention, processing, safeguarding, security, escort and transport of detainees as required by the contract.

The role requires adherence to policies, maintaining order, carrying and using authorized weapons, and completing logbooks. You must meet all qualifications including age, residency in PR, and clearance requirements.

Qualifications

• US citizen or lawfully admitted to the United States for permanent residence; resided in the U.S. for the last five years.
• High school diploma or GED.
• DHS/ICE government clearance required.
• Pass all pre-employment and random drug tests.
• At least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Perform detention, processing, safeguarding, security, escort and transport of detainees as required by contract.
• Exercise surveillance to maintain order and discipline.
• Enforce facility rules and regulations.
• Provide care, custody and control of detainees.
• Conduct security checks of area before relieving the outgoing officer.
