Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Correctional Security Officer Unarmed in Columbia, SC to protect facilities, staff, and visitors within a government corrections environment. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence, monitor access points, and respond to incidents with professionalism and discretion.

This is a full-time, on-site role requiring a valid driver’s license, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license in the state where the job is located.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized personnel while carrying out site-specific security procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas; report hazards and policy concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for entry, exit, and movement per site procedures.
• Respond to incidents calmly and professionally and document actions taken.
• Complete detailed activity logs and incident reports while maintaining confidentiality.
