Job summary

UNC Health Johnston Health in Clayton, NC seeks a Per Diem Ultrasound Technologist to perform diagnostic ultrasound exams, including OB/GYN, vascular, abdomen and small parts, with RDMS credentials preferred.

Responsibilities include image management via PACS, equipment checks, patient prep, and collaboration with physicians for final diagnoses. This position offers onsite work and variable scheduling.

Qualifications

• Completion of a 12-month program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or General Ultrasound.
• RDMS registered or registry eligible and obtain within 1 year of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations including OB/GYN, vascular, abdomen and small parts.
• Ensure safe exam environment; maintain equipment and supplies; prepare data for transfer.
• Collaborate with clinicians, review prior studies, and plan patient flow.
• Produce and document findings; assist in final diagnosis with physicians.
• Provide ultrasound guidance for procedures and maintain sterility and safety.
