Job summary

UNC Health Women’s OBGYN Care Goldsboro is seeking a per diem Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to perform a range of obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound exams. The team currently includes MDs and midwives with a new MD joining later in 2026.

Must maintain RDMS status and BLS certification, with on-site responsibilities in Goldsboro, NC. The candidate will work with a multidisciplinary team, utilize PACS, and contribute to quality assurance and education.

Qualifications

• Completion of a twelve (12) month program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or General Ultrasound.
• RDMS certification and ARDMS requirements to become registered.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes all relevant worksheets and generates accurate ultrasound impressions.
• Maintains PACS data, ensures data transfer and image management.
• Evaluates patient information to determine procedure appropriateness and plan daily work.
• Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures and documents findings; ensures RDMS status.
• Ultrasound guidance for procedures including sonohysterograms, CVS, amniocentesis and fetal procedures.
