Job summary

Mercy Health in Springfield is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to perform ultrasound procedures and provide direct patient care under Radiology leadership. You will learn vascular exams and document findings for physicians.

The role requires ARDMS/ARRT eligibility or certification, 1 year experience preferred, and proficiency with EPIC EHR and PACS. A team-focused environment with continuous learning and performance improvement opportunities is offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ultrasonography program and ARDMS/ARRT registry eligible (required)
• Certification/Registration with ARRT or ARDMS (required)
• 1 year ultrasound experience preferred
• Advanced modality registration in Ultrasound by ARDMS or ARRT preferred or within 2 years

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of direct patient care and verifies patient information
• Explains procedures to patients and prepares for the exam
• Ensures patient comfort, privacy and safety during procedures
• Documents sonographer impressions and relays findings to physician
• Obtains and records images demonstrating normal and pathological findings
• Participates in performance improvement projects and audits
• Assists in education/resident orientation and adheres to standards
