Job summary

Bright Light Medical Imaging in Arlington Heights seeks a Part Time Ultrasound Technologist to perform ultrasound examinations and ensure patient comfort. You will handle histories, explain procedures, position patients, and document imaging results.

The role requires ARDMS/RVT certification and CPR-BLS, with on-site training provided. This position supports a team-driven, physician-led imaging center focused on compassionate care.

Qualifications

• ARDMS and/or RVT registration with prior clinical ultrasound experience.
• Proficiency running advanced Ultrasound studies independently.
• Proficient in Abdomen/Small Parts, OB/GYN, Vascular.
• Experience in Breasts preferred.
• CPR-BLS Certification

Responsibilities

• Document patient's medical history prior to examination.
• Sterilize and maintain ultrasound equipment.
• Gain patient cooperation by calming anxieties and explaining imaging process.
• Position patients to obtain correct imaging.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the experience.
• Maintain cleanliness of rooms and supplies.
• Record data in patient charts and communicate results to staff/physician.
• Provide education and direction to new technologists.
• Perform ultrasound imaging procedures accurately and timely.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Ultrasound Technologist, Part Time

Location: Onsite Arlington Heights

Days/Hours: Saturday 8am-4:30pm or 5pm

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Document patient's medical history prior to any examination
• Sterilize and maintain ultrasound equipment
• Gain patient cooperation by calming anxieties, providing explanation of imaging process and addressing any questions or concerns
• Carefully position patients in order to obtain correct imaging
• Responsibly ensure patient is comfortable and safe throughout their experience
• Maintains cleanliness of rooms and adequate stock of supplies
• Use sonographic skills to identify, record and adapt procedures
• Document ultrasound services by accurately recording data in the patient's chart
• Effectively communicate medical data, patient history and any related information to staff and appropriate physician
• Provide education, training and direction to new technologists
• Perform all job related functions as a Ultrasound Technologist, including all Ultrasound imaging procedures according to department standard in a timely and efficient manner
• Perform all other duties as assigned
• Frequent lifting/movement of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. without assistance without assistance
• Must be able to stand, stoop, lift and walk without restrictions

• Technical, extensive knowledge and skilled expertise in ultrasound technology
• Ability to integrate diagnostic sonograms, laboratory results, and medical histories to adapt sonographic examinations as necessary
• Effective, composed communication to address patient's questions
• Interpersonal skills, patient focused attitude with passion and sensitivity towards their care

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:

• ARDMS and/or RVT registered with prior clinical ultrasound experience
