Job summary

Bright Light Medical Imaging is seeking a Mammography Technologist for a part-time onsite role in Arlington Heights. You will document patient history, position and image patients, and ensure safety and comfort during procedures.

The role requires radiologic technology training, ARRT certifications in radiography and mammography, MQSA training, continuing education, and CPR‑BLS certification. Join a compassionate team and contribute to high‑quality imaging services.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program.
• ARRT Radiography certification and ARRT registration.
• ARRT Mammography certification and ARRT registration preferred.
• 40 hours MQSA‑approved training and 25 supervised mammography exams.
• Maintain required mammography continuing education as mandated by the Mammography Quality Standards Act.
• Previous experience in a diagnostic radiology/imaging setting preferred.
• IEMA Licensure and CPR-BLS Certification.

Responsibilities

• Document the medical history of the patient prior to any examination.
• Position patient to obtain correct imaging, ensuring comfort and safety.
• Explain imaging procedure to reduce anxiety and address patient questions.
• Maintain cleanliness and sterility of mammography equipment and stock.
• Follow department standards and protocols for quality mammograms.
• Explain and perform imaging procedures as directed by radiologist.
• Provide education and direction to new technologists.
• Accurately document mammogram data into the patient's chart.

Mammography Technologist , Part-time

Location: Onsite Arlington Heights

Days/Hours: Every other Saturday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

With Evening Hours Available from 3:30 PM-9:00 PM

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITES:

• Document the medical history of the patient prior to any examination
• Maintains cleanliness of room, sterilize mammographic equipment and keep adequate stock of supplies on hand
• Carefully position patient in order to obtain correct imaging, ensuring patient is comfortable and safe throughout procedure
• Explain imaging procedure using tact, courtesy and poise to reduce anxiety to obtain patient cooperation, address any patient questions and concerns
• Maintains quality of mammographic equipment by following company standards and procedures, and promotes continuous quality improvement
• Follow company procedural protocol and standards maintaining production and quality mammograms
• Evaluate and interpret captured images effectively
• Accurately document mammogram data into patient's chart
• According to department standards and protocols set by radiologist, perform all job related functions as a Mammography Technologist, including all imaging procedures in a timely and efficient manner, and communicate related information to appropriate physician
• Provide education, training and direction to new technologists
• Perform all other duties as assigned
• Frequent lifting/movement of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. without assistance
• Must be able to stand, stoop, lift and walk without restrictions

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program
• AART Radiography certification and current ARRT registration
• ARRT Mammography certification and current ARRT registration preferred
• 40 hours advanced training in a MQSA approved program and 25 supervised exams in mammography
• Maintain required mammography continuing education as mandated by the Mammography Quality Standards Act
• Previous experience desired in a diagnostic radiology/imaging setting
• IEMA Licensure
• CPR-BLS Certification
