Job summary

AdventHealth Winter Haven seeks a dedicated Ultrasound Technologist to perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams per provider orders and protocols. You will verify patient identity, position patients and equipment, and optimize images for accuracy.

You will explain procedures to patients, maintain privacy, follow infection control standards, and document findings clearly in the EMR. Collaboration with radiologists and care teams ensures appropriate imaging and continuity of patient care.

Qualifications

• Ultrasound physics knowledge and anatomy understanding.
• Cross-sectional and vascular anatomy knowledge with Doppler techniques.
• Proficiency with radiology software and PACS.
• Strong patient care and communication skills for all ages.
• Ability to work professionally with patients, families, physicians and staff.
• Proficiency in explaining procedures and maintaining patient privacy.
• Ability to learn and adapt to department policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams according to orders and protocols.
• Verify patient identity and exam appropriateness, obtaining clinical history as needed.
• Position patients and equipment to acquire optimal images and data.
• Maintain accurate documentation in EMR and PACS systems.
• Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare providers to ensure appropriate imaging.
