Piedmont Columbus Midtown is seeking an Ultrasound Tech Student for PRN shifts. The role involves performing a wide range of ultrasound procedures under the supervision of an experienced technologist, including pelvic, abdominal, and vascular exams.

You will prepare preliminary findings and provide care for neonatal to geriatric patients. Requirements include enrollment in an accredited ultrasound program (CAAHEP) or CMA in Canada, plus 1 year of student experience in a approved program and BLS

Qualifications

• Student enrolled in an accredited ultrasound program (CAAHEP) or CMA in Canada is required.
• 1 year as a student in an accredited CAAHEP/CMA program required.
• BLS certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs ultrasound procedures under supervision.
• Imaging includes pelvic, abdominal, small parts and vascular exams; may perform complex imaging when applicable.

Performs a wide variety of routine and complex ultrasound procedures according to established standards and practices under the direct and/or indirect supervision of an experienced or lead ultrasound/vascular technologist. Performs ultrasound imaging such as pelvic, abdominal, small parts, and routine vascular examinations (ex., peripheral vascular [arterial and venous], renal, aorta/iliac, and carotid artery) and may perform more complex imaging such as breast ultrasound, deep Doppler and guided interventional procedures (ex., biopsies). Prepares preliminary findings. Provides patient care to all age groups including neonatal, pediatrics, adult, and geriatrics.

• A student currently enrolled in accredited ultrasound program by the Commission on Accreditation for Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or by the Canadian Medical Association (CMA) in Canada required

Work Experience

• 1 year as a student in are accredited Commission on Accreditation for Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or a Canadian Medical Association (CMA) program required

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Basic Life Support (BLS) certified upon hire required
