Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Milford, MA, is seeking an ultrasound technologist to perform ultrasound scans to aid physician diagnosis across all ages. The role requires following Universal Protocol, maintaining equipment, and documenting results in HIS/RIS/PACS systems.

Under supervision of the Mammography/Ultrasound Supervisor, you will contribute to a team delivering high-quality imaging, safety, and patient care, with opportunities for professional growth within a leading health system.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
• Registrant or registry eligible by the ARDMS.
• BLS certification within 90 days from date of hire.
• Additional registries are encouraged.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the above requirements.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and records appropriate patient information and history; adjusts imaging procedures for patient size, age, or condition using Universal Protocol.
• Assists, transfers, and positions patients ensuring modesty and safety; selects exam parameters according to patient condition.
• Processes and records scanned images per Radiologist protocol; reviews scans with Radiologists as requested; documents work in HIS/RIS/PACS systems.
• Checks equipment operation and QA/maintenance schedules; maintains cleanliness and supplies; prevents cross contamination.
• Keeps up to date with ultrasonography advances by inservice study or courses, or through professional organizations.

Education
