Outpatient Diagnostic Center of Alabama (ODC Alabama) seeks an experienced Ultrasound Supervisor to oversee our ultrasound department across four outpatient imaging centers. This is a working leadership role combining hands-on patient care with departmental oversight and staff leadership.

The ideal candidate has ARDMS/ARRT certification, breast ultrasound experience, and proven ability to manage scheduling, training, and workflow across multiple sites while upholding QA and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Current ultrasound certification required (ARDMS or ARRT S).
• Breast ultrasound experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Ultrasound operations across four locations.

• Ensure staffing coverage for extended service hours.
• Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and competency assessments.
• Promote QA, patient safety, and consistent imaging standards.
• Collaborate with radiologists and leadership to improve workflow.

Ultrasound Supervisor

Full-Time | Salary | Exempt

Outpatient Diagnostic Center of Alabama (ODC Alabama) is an independent outpatient imaging organization with four imaging centers serving the Huntsville, Madison, Athens, and Decatur communities. We are seeking an experienced Ultrasound Supervisor to oversee our Ultrasound department across multiple locations.

This is a working leadership role that combines hands-on patient care with departmental oversight, staff leadership, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate is an experienced Sonographer who enjoys supporting a team, maintaining high-quality imaging standards, and helping daily operations run smoothly.

Schedule and Operations

• Full-time, salaried, exempt position
• Approximately 2-3 days per week dedicated to patient care
• Ultrasound services operate seven days per week
• Reports directly to the Director of Center Operations
• Provides leadership and support across four outpatient imaging centers

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Ultrasound operations across all four locations
• Maintain all departmental credentials and accreditations, including ACR requirements
• Supervise and support imaging staff, including scheduling, training, performance evaluations, and performance management
• Ensure appropriate staffing coverage to support departmental needs and extended service hours
• Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and competency assessments for imaging personnel
• Promote quality assurance, patient safety, and consistent imaging standards across all locations
• Collaborate with radiologists and operational leadership to improve workflow and the patient experience
• Support efficient Women's Imaging workflows and maintain high standards of patient care

Qualifications

• Current Sonography certification required
• Breast Ultrasound experience
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple locations, competing priorities, and changing operational needs
• A hands-on approach with a willingness to support patient care and daily operations
• Positive, team-oriented attitude with a willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute to a collaborative organization

Requirements

Education:

• Must have a minimum associate's degree in Radiology or be a graduate of an accredited two-year radiology program.

License/Certification Requirements:

• Must be registered through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or ARRT (S).
• OB, Abdominal, or General certification is required upon hire.
• RVT certification is required upon hire.
• Must meet the applicable state licensure requirements for the state in which they practice.
