Job summary

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health is seeking a Sonographer to join a collaborative imaging team at DHMC. You will perform advanced ultrasound studies across OB, gynecologic, infertility, and general ultrasound using GE and Philips systems.

Ideal candidates have AMA-approved education, ARDMS certification, and OB experience; training will be provided for high-risk obstetrics specialties. Full-time, day shift with potential weekend/holiday coverage.

Qualifications

• Graduate from AMA-approved allied health program for sonography is required.
• 1+ year of experience in general and specialty ultrasound preferred.
• Experience in high-risk OB, advanced abdominal imaging, infertility, and guided biopsies preferred.
• Solid knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and ultrasound reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Select equipment, imaging modalities, position, and prep for optimal studies.
• Operate ultrasonography equipment to perform examinations and assess image quality.
• Record preliminary results and prepare reports in the department system.
• Take measurements and label them; communicate findings to physicians.
• Consult radiologists on unusual scans and need for re-scanning.
• Perform interventional biopsy-related duties and ensure billing reflects exam.
• Oversee students/residents and maintain equipment and QC procedures.
