Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA/accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program; registry eligible required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience performing a wide range of general and specialty ultrasound exams preferred.
• Experience in high-risk OB, advanced abdominal imaging, complex infertility, and guided biopsies preferred.
• Must obtain RDMS certification within 6 months of employment; Abdomen (AB) specialty required within 1 year of employment.
• Must maintain active ARDMS certification in specialty areas.

Responsibilities

• Selects equipment and imaging modalities, position, and prep to facilitate optimum diagnostic studies.
• Operates ultrasonography equipment to perform an examination and evaluates scan quality.
• Records preliminary study results and prepares reports using the department's structured reporting system.
• Takes measurements and labels them; communicates ultrasound findings to the physician.
• Maintains ultrasonography equipment and oversees students, residents, and staff.
