Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center seeks an Ultrasound Sonographer to perform comprehensive imaging exams and maintain equipment per protocol. The role supports physicians, participates in QA/QC, and may supervise students.

It requires an accredited ultrasound program credential, ARDMS (or RVT/RVS) and BLS, with RVT if not currently held within six months. Preferred candidates have a Bachelor's degree and at least two years of ultrasound experience.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's Degree Diagnostic Medical Sonography or graduation from an accredited program.
• Licenses/Certifications: ARDMS, RVT, or RVS; BLS; RVT within 6 months if not certified.
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree; 2 years ultrasound experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a clean, orderly work area and ensures equipment readiness.
• Interacts with patients, explains tests, and answers questions professionally.
• Performs grayscale, color, and duplex ultrasound exams per protocol.
• Assists physicians, supervises students/residents as needed, and participates in QA/QC.
