Job summary

University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center seeks an Ultrasound Sonographer to perform ultrasound imaging exams, ensure protocol adherence, and participate in accreditation and equipment maintenance. The role requires an Associate's Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or equivalent, with ARDMS/RVT/RVS and BLS certifications expected by start date.

Shift: Wed-Sat, 8:30 PM–7:00 AM with on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Education must be an Associate's Degree or graduate of an accredited program.
• Licenses/certifications include ARDMS, RVT/RVS, and BLS; RVT/RVS must be obtained within 6 months if not present.
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree and 2 years ultrasound experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a clean, well-supplied work area and reports equipment issues.
• Interacts with patients, verifies identity, prepares for exams and answers questions.
• Performs grayscale, color and duplex ultrasound exams per protocol.
• May supervise/teach students and participate in QA and regulatory activities.
• Ensures images are stored in PACS and communicated to radiologists.
