Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas is seeking an Ultrasound Sonographer to perform comprehensive imaging exams under physician supervision. The role emphasizes quality imaging, patient interaction, and adherence to accreditation standards.

Candidates should have an Associate's Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or equivalent; ARDMS and RVT/RVS certifications are required, with RVT obtainable within six months if not already held. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education Associate's Degree Diagnostic Medical Sonography or graduate of an Accredited Sonography Program.
• Licenses and Certifications: ARDMS, RVT/RVS, and BLS per AHA/ARC; RVT must be obtained within 6 months if not yet held.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a clean, well-organized work area and ensures equipment readiness.
• Verifies patient identity, communicates with patients, and assesses history for exams.
• Performs grayscale, color, and duplex ultrasound studies (carotid, extremities, abdominal, OB/GYN) and ensures image quality.
• Assists physicians, participates in QA/QC, and supports accreditation processes.
• Trains students/residents and participates in departmental meetings; adheres to policies and safety guidelines.
