Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with allied health training.
• Two years ultrasound experience in a clinical setting.
• ARDMS registration required for experienced sonographers; new grads must obtain within 6 months.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• Ability to sit, stand and walk 1-3 hours; lift 50 lbs; good depth perception and color vision.

Responsibilities

• Assigns, coordinates, and monitors daily activities in Ultrasound Imaging to ensure patient care standards.
• Provides ultrasound services to patients of all ages and acts as a clinical resource for staff.
• Performs routine abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, breast, thyroid, and other targeted exams as needed.
• Operates ultrasound equipment with Doppler and vascular capabilities; assists with biopsies or procedures.
• Maintains aseptic technique and infection control; verifies patient identity and orders before exams.
