Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking an ultrasound technologist to perform comprehensive diagnostic sonography for all ages, including obstetric and vascular studies. The role supports radiologists with preliminary interpretations and operates Doppler-capable ultrasound equipment.

Candidates should have ARDMS certification, CPR, and experience with PACS/RIS. The position requires patient interaction, room preparation, and adherence to safety and infection control protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an allied health training program plus ultrasound experience.
• ARDMS registration required for experienced sonographers; new grads must obtain within 6 months of hire date.
• Current CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine abdominal, gallbladder, renal, aorta and spleen exams for adults, adolescents, children and neonates.
• Performs obstetrical studies including single and multiple gestations, transvaginal and translabial approaches.
• Operates ultrasound equipment with Doppler and vascular capabilities and provides preliminary interpretations to radiologists.
