Job summary

Baker Hughes seeks an UT Service Engineer in Skaneateles, NY to deliver hands-on support for ultrasonic testing systems across North America. You will install, calibrate, maintain, repair, and train customers, ensuring uptime and equipment reliability.

Travel across North America is required, with occasional international trips. A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, strong communication, and customer-focused service mindset are essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, science or technology from an accredited college.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical and/or electrical systems.
• Self-starter who can manage multiple projects.
• Energy and customer-focused with proactive service mindset.
• Ability to work independently at customer sites while balancing priorities.
• Excellent communication and technical reporting skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively across North America and occasional international trips.
• Valid passport and driver's license.
• Based in Skaneateles, NY (Remote/Home-Based candidates considered).
• Collaborative team player with a drive to Continuous Improvement.

Responsibilities

• Performing installation, commissioning, calibration, inspection, preventive maintenance, and repair activities on UT testing systems and equipment across North America.
• Troubleshooting and resolving mechanical, electrical, automation, and ultrasonic testing equipment issues to maximize customer uptime.
• Conducting certifications and health assessments and service interventions per requirements.
• Delivering customer training on system operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting best practices.
• Serving as primary technical contact for customers during field assignments and maintaining relationships.
• Identifying service, spare parts, upgrade, and maintenance opportunities for long-term reliability.
• Completing service reports, inspection records, and certification documentation accurately.
