Job summary

NOARK Electric seeks an experienced Structural Design Engineer to lead mechanical design for UL 891/UL 1558 switchboards for the North American market. You will create detailed drawings, BOMs, and enclosure layouts, coordinating with electrical engineers and ensuring compliance with UL, NEC, ANSI, and NEMA standards.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree and 5+ years of relevant experience, with mentorship for junior engineers and collaboration across Sales, Manufacturing, Quality,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in designing low-voltage switchboards or switchgear.
• Proven experience with UL 891 and UL 1558 products.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical structures for UL 891 switchboards and UL 1558 switchgear.
• Prepare mechanical drawings, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and BOMs.
• Coordinate with electrical engineers to optimize layout and manufacturability.
• Ensure designs comply with UL, NEC, ANSI, and NEMA standards.
• Support UL certification projects, reviews, and inspections.
• Review customer specs and provide technical solutions during bids and projects.
• Resolve manufacturing and field installation issues related to structural design.
• Support prototypes, verification, and continuous product improvement.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with Sales, Manufacturing, Quality, and Purchasing.
