Job summary

Butcher Power Products seeks a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to provide engineering leadership and design guidance for power distribution products. The role focuses on delivering robust, manufacturable designs while mentoring the mechanical design team.

The candidate will drive design reviews, ensure compliance with UL 891/UL 50 family standards, and collaborate across Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality to optimize product performance and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 7+ years in design/manufacturing in a industrial setting.
• Experience with UL 891/UL 50 product standards is preferred.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks and data management tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead design concepts and drive execution from concept to fabrication-ready documents.
• Review drawings for accuracy and ensure alignment with fabrication and assembly requirements.
• Mentor other design engineers on best practices, standards, and processes.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Project Management to meet schedule and quality targets.
• Apply DFM/DFA principles and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide engineering support to resolve design-related production issues.
