Job description

UKG Consulting Architect – Workforce Management
The Opportunity

A leading workforce management and HR technology consulting firm is looking for an experienced UKG Consulting Architect to join its growing consulting team.

The business partners with organisations to optimise their workforce operations through technology, strategic consulting and implementation services. With a strong focus on UKG solutions, the firm helps clients translate complex operational requirements into effective workforce management systems, improving efficiency, productivity and the overall employee experience.

This is an opportunity for a senior UKG professional who can combine solution architecture, consulting leadership and client engagement. You’ll play a key role in designing UKG solutions, leading consulting teams and ensuring that what is proposed during the initial stages of a project can be successfully delivered through implementation and beyond.

UKG Timekeeping and Scheduling expertise will be central to this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • UKG Solution Architecture: Lead the design of UKG workforce management solutions, translating complex client requirements into scalable, effective system designs.
  • Timekeeping & Scheduling: Provide deep functional expertise across UKG Timekeeping and Advanced Scheduling, understanding configuration, workforce rules, operational requirements and the challenges of complex workforce environments.
  • Consulting Leadership: Lead, mentor and guide consultants across solution design and implementation, ensuring high-quality delivery and effective knowledge sharing.
  • Client Advisory: Act as a trusted advisor to clients, leading discovery sessions, understanding business challenges and recommending solutions that align with their operational objectives.
  • Implementation Strategy: Bridge the gap between initial discovery, solution design and implementation. Identify potential risks, dependencies and delivery challenges early, ensuring solutions are realistic and fit for purpose.
  • Requirements & Solution Design: Work closely with client stakeholders to gather requirements, assess existing processes and develop functional designs that support successful UKG implementations.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with senior client stakeholders, project teams and consultants, communicating complex technical and functional concepts clearly.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimise existing UKG environments, improve workforce management processes and maximise the value clients achieve from their technology investment.
  • End-to-End Delivery: Support projects throughout the implementation lifecycle, from initial assessment and design through configuration, testing, go-live and post-implementation optimisation.
Required Experience
  • Significant experience within UKG consulting, solution architecture or workforce management implementation.
  • Strong hands‑on functional knowledge of UKG Pro Workforce Management.
  • Extensive experience across Timekeeping and Scheduling, including the ability to design solutions around complex client and workforce requirements.
  • A proven consulting background, with experience leading consultants and advising clients on system design and implementation.
  • Experience translating business requirements into functional solution architecture and implementation plans.
  • A thorough understanding of the full project lifecycle, including the practical challenges that arise between initial scoping, solution design, configuration and go-live.
  • Excellent client‑facing communication, stakeholder management and problem‑solving skills.
  • The ability to balance strategic solution design with practical delivery considerations.
The Ideal Candidate

You’ll be an established UKG consultant or architect who understands that successful implementations require more than technical knowledge alone.

You’ll know how to design the right solution, challenge client requirements when necessary, guide consultants through complex projects and anticipate the issues that can arise when moving from an agreed design into real‑world implementation.

You should be comfortable operating at both a strategic and hands‑on level, working directly with clients while providing leadership and direction to the wider consulting team.

This is particularly suited to someone with strong UKG Timekeeping and Scheduling expertise who is ready to take on broader architectural responsibility and consulting leadership.
